The International Atomic Energy Agency is the world’s central intergovernmental forum for scientific and technical co-operation in the nuclear field. It works for the safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology, contributing to international peace and security and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The Nuclear Power Engineering Section supports countries operating nuclear power plants or expanding their existing programmes to improve engineering, performance, management systems, human resource management, stakeholder involvement and technical infrastructure. It shares best engineering practices and innovations consistent with the global objectives of nuclear safety, security and non-proliferation.
