Patrick Morilhat manages the Nuclear Plant Performance R&D Program for EDF. He leads R&D programs related to plant modernization and digitalization, productivity improvement and flexible operation.
Prior to this position, Mr. Morilhat was in charge of EDF international affairs in the field of R&D for power generation and participated in the creation of several new EDF R&D centers worldwide. He also co-chaired the deployment strategy of the EU Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform and was formerly vice-chair of the EPRI (Electric Power Research Institute) Instrumentation and Control committee.
He began his professional career at EDF in 1985. In the technical field, he pioneered the implementation of probabilistic approach in mechanical engineering, the development of fatigue monitoring systems in nuclear power plants and the development of digital technologies for operation and maintenance in nuclear, thermal and hydropower generation.
